I believe this is a strong painting, despite some drawbacks. It did not take long, but here I find the elements of future strong work coming into play. What I have learned is surprisingly simple, but quite effective for me: 1. The first thing I did was think "composition". This is key. I did not think, what a neat painting this would be, not at all, rather I took advantage of the subject to provide the material with which to build a pleasing composition. 2.
